C’est une premi\u00e8re au Canada. Centraide Abitibi T\u00e9miscamingue et Nord-du-Qu\u00e9bec (ATNQ) annonce la cr\u00e9ation du Fonds d’investissement social de l’industrie mini\u00e8re (FISIM), une initiative \u00e0 laquelle une quinzaine de membres fondateurs issus de tous les horizons de l’industrie mini\u00e8re r\u00e9gionale ont choisi de s’associer. Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s mini\u00e8res, entrepreneurs, fournisseurs et firmes-conseils : rarement l’industrie s’\u00e9tait mobilis\u00e9e aussi largement autour d’un projet \u00e0 vocation sociale. Ce fonds collectif et durable vise \u00e0 renforcer le tissu social de l’Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue et du Nord-du-Qu\u00e9bec pour les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations actuelles et futures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des r\u00e9gions riches, mais pas \u00e0 l’abri<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’industrie mini\u00e8re est un pilier \u00e9conomique incontournable de ces deux r\u00e9gions. En plus de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des milliers d\u2019emplois, les investissements miniers annuels au Qu\u00e9bec ont r\u00e9cemment atteint un sommet historique de 5,7 milliards de dollars, dont pr\u00e8s de 75 % r\u00e9alis\u00e9s dans ces deux r\u00e9gions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pourtant, derri\u00e8re cette vitalit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique, les besoins sociaux sont bien r\u00e9els et en croissance. Logement abordable, s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, sant\u00e9 mentale, isolement : ces enjeux touchent une part croissante de la population. L’\u00e9loignement g\u00e9ographique et la dispersion des communaut\u00e9s amplifient les d\u00e9fis d’acc\u00e8s aux services. Le FISIM est n\u00e9 de ce constat : une \u00e9conomie forte a besoin de communaut\u00e9s en sant\u00e9 pour prosp\u00e9rer, et le d\u00e9veloppement social repose sur une base \u00e9conomique solide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une r\u00e9ponse in\u00e9dite de l’industrie<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En r\u00e9pondant \u00e0 l’appel de Centraide ATNQ, une quinzaine de membres fondateurs ont choisi de s’unir autour d’un mod\u00e8le d’investissement social collectif, structurant et p\u00e9renne.\u00a0Parmi eux figurent\u00a0Corporation Mini\u00e8re\u00a0Troilus,\u00a0Dhilmar\u00a0Mine \u00c9l\u00e9onore,\u00a0Agnico\u00a0Eagle, Eldorado Gold Qu\u00e9bec, IAMGOLD Westwood, Fournier, Moreau,\u00a0MineOps, Forages Chibougamau, M\u00e9tal Marquis,\u00a0ethos\u00a0strat\u00e9gie, GCM Corpo, Acc\u00e8s Industriel\u00a0(Groupe Dion),\u00a0Fresnillo\u00a0plc\u00a0Projet\u00a0Novador\u00a0et Transfert Environnement et Soci\u00e9t\u00e9<\/strong>. Cette diversit\u00e9 de l’industrie, t\u00e9moigne d’une volont\u00e9 collective sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le FISIM a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 le 27 avril \u00e0 Chibougamau, en pr\u00e9sence de membres fondateurs et de partenaires r\u00e9gionaux, puis le 29 avril \u00e0 Val d\u2019Or refl\u00e9tant ainsi la double r\u00e9alit\u00e9 territoriale que ce fonds entend servir. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fifteen founding members from across the mining industry join Centraide ATNQ to build a lasting social legacy<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\u00a0a Canadian first,<\/em>\u00a0Centraide Abitibi\u00a0T\u00e9miscamingue\u00a0et Nord-du-Qu\u00e9bec (ATNQ) announces the creation of the Social Investment Fund of the Mining Industry (FISIM), an initiative\u00a0supported by a coalition of\u00a0fifteen founding members from across the regional mining industry.\u00a0Mining companies, contractors, suppliers,\u00a0and consulting firms: the industry\u00a0has rarely\u00a0mobilized\u00a0on this scale\u00a0around a social initiative.\u00a0This\u00a0collective fund\u00a0is designed to sustainably\u00a0strengthen the social fabric of Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue\u00a0and Nord-du-Qu\u00e9bec for generations\u00a0to come.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thriving Regions, Real Social Needs<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mining industry is an essential economic pillar of both regions. Beyond creating thousands of jobs, annual mining investment in Quebec recently reached a record high of $5.7 billion, with nearly 75% concentrated in these two regions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet behind this economic vitality, social needs remain pressing and are growing. Affordable housing, food security, mental health, and isolation are challenges affecting an increasing share of the population. Regional remoteness and scattered communities create unique barriers to essential services. This is the context that led to the creation of FISIM: a strong economy needs healthy communities to thrive, and social development requires a solid economic base. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Unprecedented Industry Response<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
